Welcome to the third module for VITAL: Relational Health.
This module will review how relational health can be used to support toxic stress interventions in primary care. It will begin with a short review of the Adverse Childhood Experiences study and related literature, as well as the science of toxic stress. We will then describe ways that childhood adversity can impact relational health as well as how relational health can mitigate the toxic stress response.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this module participants will be able to:
1. Explain how adversity in childhood impacts cardiovascular disease outcomes, and neuroendocrine and immune functioning.
2. Describe ways in which adversity in childhood can impact relational health.
3. Apply “regulate, relate, reason” to your clinical practice.
